error 3331 final fantasy update

Can you help, we are recieveing error code 3331 when trying to get into game

it actually says "the games data has been updated. Please return to the play online final fantasy x1 top page and download the latest version" Clicks ok and it closes. Not sure what this means (error code 3331) Thanks

Never heard of this before. Sounds like your game files have been corrupted.

Have you double checked that you are connecting to our server in ashita/windower?

If so, I would suggest re-installing the game. We do not update our game, have not and will not.

I'm having this exact same issue and I can't figure it out. Didn't want to post a new thread when one with this question already existed, so here's a bump.

Operating System: Windows 10
Operating System Architecture (32/64bit): 64bit
Problem Program: FFXI
Install Step: 15 (if applicable)
Details: The launcher is crashing after I type my username and password. FFXI does not open.

I managed to figure out how to solve this problem. Had to install the retail version of POL and do Check Files(FFXI) -> Repair. I'm now able to play on the server successfully, but thanks anyways for the timely response.

If others look here with the same issue this sounds as if the installation is not completing successfully (most likely a permissions issue). I will be happy to do a support session to look into what is failing and fix it if you can catch me on IRC (state your problem and we will reply when we see it.)

I suggest re-installing being sure to "run as administrator" when running the installer because the registry settings are probably not being properly saved. Using our installer is the only way to get the correct NPC responses and there could be other issues with using the current retail version.
